Ice Tracking

Daily imagery from the NOAA weather satellites [AVHRR] was used to study the motion of the ice pack in the Canadian Beaufort Sea for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans: In this example, motion vectors calculated from a pair of images was used to calculate vectors for the period 16:29 GMT to 16:05 GMT June 21, 1985. The ice motion is overlaid on a colourized image from June 21. The scale of the vectors is in the lower right.
