Very High Spatial Resolution Digital Imaging

Example of high spatial resolution panchromatic imagery from a fixed wing aircraft. The imagery was taken September 2000 over Swartz Bay Ferry terminal near Sidney, British Columbia.

The imagery shown at left has been grossly subsampled. The full dataset is 4096 pixels by 11145 scanlines. The image on the right is taken from the area outlined by the red box in the image at left. The image below is shown at full resolution. The imagery was collected at an altitude of 3000' at a speed of 90 knots. The resulting pixel size is 22.3cm.
